Lash Lifts Are Now a Thing—Should You Try It?
Lash lifts are a relatively new cosmetic procedure. A lift is basically a perm for your eyelashes. This procedure lasts about 6-8 weeks depending on the client’s natural lash growth. Lash lifts will not add any density to your length as we only utilize the natural lashes. The appointment for the lash lifts last about 45 minutes to 1 hour. There are a few steps to achieve this.
Step one: Client lays on the table and we place a gel eye pad on top of the lower lashes.
Step two: We apply a silicone rod to the top lid of the eye as close to the lash line as possible with a water-soluble adhesive. We have various types of rods depending on how lifted the client wants their lashes as well as the length of their natural lashes.
Step three: Starting in small sections, we apply that same water-soluble adhesive to the silicone rod. We then use a small metal tool to push back the natural lashes and securing them to the rod, making sure they are straight, evenly spaced, and not crossed.
Step four: We apply the lift solution to the lashes and wait 8-12 minutes for it to set. At the time, the client has an opportunity to relax.
Step five: We then remove the lift solution from the lashes, and apply the setting solution for another 8-12 minutes.
Step six: We remove the setting solution with water and begin to disconnect the lashes form the silicone rod with water.
Step seven: We remove the rod from the eye lid with water and confirm that all the solution is off the lashes.
Step eight: We then rinse the lashes with water and run a dry, clean, spoolie through the lashes.
Step nine: We ask the client to open and have them check out their new and improved lifted lashes!
